Killerspin Jet200 Review

The Killerspin Jet-200 paddle is a shakehand style paddle designed for beginners or recreational players. What makes this a great paddle for beginners, or those interested in getting better, is the paddle’s great control.

Made out of extra-light 5-ply wood and designed with a 3-7/8-inch flared handle for better grip, the racket was developed for a quick but controlled playing style. It sports a 1.8mm millimeter sponge with a thickness that helps in added control but less power, perfect for someone learning the ropes of table tennis or purchasing their first paddle.

While power is important, especially if you’re more of the offensive type, learning to control your shots early will make you a much better player in the long run. Overall, it’s a great starter paddle for only $29.99.

  • 5-ply wood extra-light blade with flared handle for optimal grip
  • Blue and black combination of 1.8mm performance rubber
  • Ratings out of 10: Speed 6.0, Spin 7.0, Control 8.5
  • Comes with a 30-day warranty
  • 3-7/8-inch Flared Handle
  • 5.9 millimeter Blade Thickness
  • Ratings Speed 6.0, Spin 7.0, Control 8.5
  • High quality Table Tennis paddle engineered for control

  • Poor Power
  • Rubber wears out relatively quickly
  • Not ITTF approved, therefore you can’t play in tournaments with this paddle.
  • Expensive compared to other paddles in the same skill bracket

Ultimately, I would recommend this paddle if you are a novice or recreational player looking for a solid, relatively inexpensive paddle with great control. While this paddle may cost a little more than some of the other beginner paddles, I believe the outstanding control in relation to the importance of developing strong control makes this one of the better, if not best beginner paddles for those players serious about developing their table tennis skills.

I would not recommend this paddle if you are a serious intermediate or advanced player looking for a paddle that will help take you to the next level. While this paddle is a strong choice for beginners or recreational players, it’s not ITTF approved and I don’t believe it has the characteristics to excel in a higher level game.

After playing for some time, many players develop a playing style that is unique to them. Whether that be offensive, defensive, or somewhere in between, there are paddles better suited for your needs, especially if you plan on playing in competitive tournaments.
