DHS #A4002 Racket Review

The DHS Table Tennis Racket #A4002 is a Shakehand-style paddle designed for beginner and intermediate level players. The inexpensive price tag along with the decent quality of materials used to build the paddle makes it one of the best, if not the best, valued table tennis rackets on the market.

7-Ply Pure Wood

It sports 7-ply pure wood for increased speed and strength, while the paddle itself weighs 200 grams. 200 grams is relatively heavy when compared to other paddles in the same skill level, but should aid in the increased power and smashing capabilities.

Is This Paddle Any Good?

This paddle has stood the test of time, and therefore has been rated the #1 selling table tennis racket on Amazon. Whether you are looking for a cheap table tennis racket or the best ping pong paddle, the DHS Table Tennis racket will perform up to the task.

We recommend checking out the Stiga Pro Carbon as well as the Stiga Evolution, two similar paddles that have received superb reviews.

  • Heavy for a beginner paddle at 200g
  • Accumulates dust quickly
  • Has a fish smell from the fish glue used to apply the rubber and may require some cleaning after use until the smell dissipates.

You should purchase this paddle if you are a beginner or intermediate table tennis player. The value of the racket is perfect for those who aren’t looking to spend a lot on a new paddle, but would still like a decent quality racket. While the paddle is a little heavy, it has good control and an effective spin, everything a new player practicing to become better should have. While the fishy smell is a little annoying, it means that the paddle was recently made and has not been sitting in a warehouse for the last 5 years.

Who Should Not Purchase This Racket?

You should not purchase this paddle if you are a serious intermediate or expert skill level player. While the paddle is of good quality and is one of the best value purchases available, it is not a strong racket when compared to the more expensive rackets available such as the Killerspin Jet 800.

If you purchase the DHS A4002 and plan to comepete in tournaments or other serious competitions, I believe you would be disappointed in its overall quality as it would not be able to perform up to your expectations.
